History: Shawn was dirt track racer and a very good one at that. He seemly never lost, and after one of his races he meet a beautiful woman they fell in love and had a son. About a week after the child was born his mother left his father. His father was angry at his mother for leaving him with a son he didn't really want and he started to drink because of it. He slowly started to resent his son thinking that if he wasn't born his love wouldn't have left him. As Dalton was growing up he was very good at sports, he especially liked basketball, but his father didn't pay him much attention. His father slowly got angrier and angrier at his mother because she had left him alone with their son and started to take his hatred out on him. Dalton school life when he was a kid wasn't anything special he enjoyed P.E. and math but didn't like history and English. He didn't like them due to the fact he had a hard time reading due to dyslexia and they spent the majority of the time in both classes reading from books. other kids in these classes made fun of him due to the fact he had trouble reading. He didn't have any close friends in school and the other kids only seemed to want him around during P.E. When Dalton turned 12 he ran away due to his father coming home drunken his birthday and started to yell about how it was Dalton's fault that she left him. This wasn't the first time he had done something like this but Dalton had never seen him this bad and was afraid he was going to start hitting him so he ran away.
Dalton lived on the street making money off of betting older people on races, sports, and other stuff like that. He never really thought about it but for some reason he just knew who was going to win or lose. He got into plenty of fights with people over there bets, people thought he cheated them somehow after him not losing a single bet. He kept this up for as long as he could but eventually he would have to move towns due to people not betting him anymore. He got smarter and started to lose every now and again so people would keep betting him and he would have less fights, and wouldn't have to move as much. If he didn't need money he was usually at the park shooting basketball sometimes making small wagers with the other people that were there, but mostly he would just play. He also slept in parks a lot to look up and the sky and watch the stars. For a while he was happy or at least as happy as you could be as a run away homeless kid. Eventually people figured out he was homeless and he was put into foster care. (1 years homeless)
He was about 13 the first time he was adopted, by a strange lady that looked like she had snakes for hair. She was signing his papers to leave the orphanage when he ran he wasn't going to be adopted by some creepy lady. He didn't understand why the other people didn't see the snakes but he didn't care. As Dalton was running away from the snake-haired lady he kept getting this weird voice in his head telling him which way he should go. He kept following this voice until it lead him to a Nike shoe store. At the store a Lady that seemed to glow said "Welcome how are you doing today?" Dalton stood there stunned he had never see anyone like her before she made him feel like he could win at anything he tried. As Dalton stood there speechless the lady looked him over "looks like you've been running don't worry you won't have to run from here."
"what do you mean?" Dalton managed as he was catching his breath after he realized how tired he was.
"How about you take a little break over there on one of the benches." Dalton looked over at the bench she was pointing to and for some reason he realized just how tired he was and he walked over to it and layed down on it and fell asleep. When he woke up he was wearing a new pair of Nike's that where black and red, around his neck there was also a bronze metal. But his eyes went back to the shoes he had never had a pair of shoes that looked this amazing before they seemed to gleam with power and he loved the colors he felt like he could win any race with these shoes on. He went to stand up and when he did a note fell from his lap to the ground so he walked over a picked it up. He looked at the note and it read " You still have a long journey ahead of you little one, at times you might think you are going to lose but never give up and keep on running those shoes should help you with that, and when you feel like you are most in need rip the metal off your neck and you'll be able to protect yourself." Dalton had no idea what the part about the metal meant but he did feel like he could win any race in these shoes. From this point onward things just got weirder for him. He started to get attacked by strange people more and more thought the years. When he was 15 a hobo started chasing him down the road yelling "come here little half-blood its almost time for supper." He didn't know what half-blood meant but he was pretty sure the hobo wanted to eat him. Eventually the hobo threw off its coat and underneath It had wings. The harpy started to chase Dalton though the mall flying over head and swooping down to strike at him. Dalton kept running and dove into a store which had a large metal sign that said "Antiques" The sign happened to be on a pulley system which Dalton quickly grabbed, as the harpy flew into the shop Dalton yanked the rope free and the sign landed on the harpy and pinned her to the ground. Dalton ran away as he was sure the store owner wouldn't be happy with him and he wasn't waiting for the harpy to get unstuck.
When he was about 16 he was attacked again while playing basketball but a huge guy that looked like had had only one eye. Dalton chucked the ball in the ugly mans face and made a run for it. The lumbering man kept up his chase and Dalton sprinted though the woods. While he was running a man grabbed him and pulled him behind a tree. The man told Dalton he was there to help and started playing a reed and the forest felt like it started to come to life around them slowing the cyclopes. The man grabbed Dalton's arm and told him to follow, they ran though the woods at full speed and in the distance could hear the cyclopes screaming "curse you satyr and half blood." as they ran Dalton noticed the man he was following was running strange and he had goat legs. Dalton figured he was better than his alternatives so he kept following. But soon he heard the lumbering giant crashing though tree's as he started to catch up with them. Dalton looked back and realized the Goat-man he was with was slowing down or maybe he was speeding up he wasn't quite sure. He knew though the goat-man would get caught if he didn't do something. Then he remembered the bronze metal he was wearing and thought this is as good a time as any and ripped the metal off. The metal transformed into a glowing bronze sword. Dalton turned to see the cyclopes grabbing the satyr "satyr tastes pretty good too and not as much work as Half-blood." Dalton knew he had to help the satyr because without his help he probably would have already been caught. Dalton charged at the cyclopes at full speed and thanks to its attention beeing on the satyr and not him his sword jabbed right into the cyclopes leg ripping a large chunk off the cyclopes and it disintegrated into nothing but dust. The satyr screamed with joy and grabbed Dalton and started spinning around in circles "thank you thank you so much he would have made satyr stew if it wasn't for you." Dalton sat there in awe over what had just happened the metal turning into a sword him charging a 8 foot tall guy with one eye and him just turning to dust. The satyr kept thanking Dalton for saving his life and eventually started to tell Dalton he was a demigod the son of a god and a human, about the place he was taking him too with was the only safe place for people like him and how much he was going to love camp. It took them a week to get to camp from the cyclopes attack and in the time there weren't any more attacks.
